Stubenhocker (SHTOO-ben-hok-er) Literally “room sitter” From stube (sitting room or heated room) + hocken (to sit or squat) + -er (a person who does something). A stubenhocker is someone who prefers staying inside instead of going out. Perhaps the weather is dreadful - or perhaps home is simply nicer.
